[su_pullquote align=”right” class=”font-size:0.6em”]“As the guest musician at the 2013 SE Regional Y.O.U. retreat…Glen was in every activity…The kids fell in love with him because he is so genuine… When you’re the kind of person that gives yourself to your art I think, by necessity, you have to be the kind of person that shares your heart…you see that in Glen.” ~ Dieter Randolph, Y.O.U. - Guitarchestra
Guitarchestra is an exploration of group performance, team- and attention-building, creativity, and production values. Strap in while we learn new skills and use existing skills to create a guitar symphony arrangement of a new, original composition which can be performed in concert, or for a school or camp show. Be a “first chair” performer, or conduct the Guitarchestra — either way, plan to have fun, laugh and learn. For all skill levels, and any instrument at all. - Next Level Playing for Guitar
Guitar, bass, and percussion with two hands, made easy-ish! What you’ll learn:
Step out beyond typical folk-strum patterns; add “snare” hits, “walking bass lines”, and muting to your rhythmic strums for a “full-band” sound using just your two hands and a guitar. - One-on-One Coaching (all topics)
- On-the-Fly Song Teaching
Just plain crazy fun. Try a big sing-along jam with Glen some time 😉 - Party Guitar
Learn to play some great songs that you can lead at your next party or jam. We’ll explore chords, strums, melodies, words…maybe you’ll want to peek at some nice riffs, too. No harm in asking – I might know them! We’ll play them together, so have your instrument with you. I will share from my experience as an entertainer in the New York tri-state area and beyond. - Playing Well With Others (You KNOW You Want To)
Somewhere along the musical landscape ranging from mountain music to Steely Dan lies the key to the graceful magic that is “tasty” performance. Whether in a well-played solo, or in the larger context of musicians playing together – even supporting a vocalist – there are learnable skills to help us do it better. Time and experience are great teachers, but in this class we aim to crack the code and unlock shortcuts to help us play well with others….today! Improve your live performance skills and avoid collisions, pile-ups, sand in your face, bruised feelings and smashed instruments. All instruments. All skill levels. - Singing In Harmony – The Rock Opera Edition!
From the day we’re born we use our voices to share or exchange information and knowledge; when we sing together in harmony, our many voices become one. What a thrill! In this class we will explore two kinds of harmony structure: parallel and chordal (my favorite); we’ll learn to find, to hold on to, and to return to our parts; and we will experience glorious close harmony singing! Sound good? Then join Glen’s new harmony group, The Queen Who Ate Meatloaf (QWAM) and sing!
